Burgh Beautiful Linlithgow
Volunteering
We Always Need More Help!
There are various volunteering opportunities. You can adopt a bed or planter to look after on your own or with somebody else. There are also one-off activities like emptying or filling hanging baskets, planting trees, making holly balls, litter picking, assisting with plant deliveries, fundraising or joining one of the hit squads, which tackle different larger tasks such as the areas at the leisure centre cycle ramp. These are notified on this website.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Jean Long (Tel 01506 843461 or e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).
Burgh Beautiful volunteers, along with two Duke of Edinburgh volunteers, cleared the raised bed near Springfield Primary at the end of Dovecot Park. Watch this space develop as Bonnytoun Nursery take it on.
Thanks also go to the neighbours beside the bed who supplied refreshments to the team. Very welcome indeed.
Look at the difference made by volunteers at the Edinburgh Road Town Entrance by strimming the weeds to let the planters be seen by anyone entering the town via this route. In the past, this would have been attended to by West Lothian Council but due to cuts (no pun intended), Burgh Beautiful have had to add this to their list of activities in order to keep the town looking at its best. What a difference!
